Really appreciated the thoroughness of this article, except for the sarcasm in the section called the controversy. It’s not weird to hate on fezo. Maybe we “hate it” because for women who ACTUALLY CAN use HRT, it (HRT) would be a far better choice. Even those of us (such as Kristin and I)who are very pro HRT do not think that it can “cure everything”….that’s an unfair sweeping generalization against those of us who have a deep understanding of what physiologic restoration of hormones can do for women. For women that are candidates for HRT, we think this drug would be a terrible choice and I/we would not be at all surprised if the drug maker positions HRT in a bad light, in order sell it - not unlike some supplement companies. The vast majority of women on physiologic levels of estradiol don’t have hot flashes.

Great article--appreciate the deep dive, as always. And I am co-signing pycnogenol...I use it for night sweats in my perimenopause and they're basically now gone. WAY cheaper and less fussy than a $550/month med.
