VAG LASERS – A new pilot study out of National Taiwan University Hospital and published in Frontiers explored low-level laser therapy (LLLT) as a treatment for genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) and stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in 41 postmenopausal women. The results are promising: women with GSM reported improvements in lower urinary tract symptoms and sexual function, while those with SUI saw better control of urinary urgency and quality of life. All participants showed significant gains in vaginal health, with some opting to end treatment early due to rapid symptom relief. This form of laser therapy offers a safe, comfortable, and low-cost option – roughly one-fifth the price of high-energy laser therapies for both patients and providers.
