One thing you probably won’t see me do – ever – is use the word ‘debunk’.

I’m also not a fan of ‘misinformation’ and ‘disinformation’. Definitely not ‘malinformation’. I had a pretty big awakening in 2020, when I opened my eyes and saw how slanted media coverage really is. I’ve never stopped noticing.

That’s around the time I started calling myself a ‘recovering journalist’.

Things are true and things are false. And then there is everything in-between. Including the tricky ‘not true yet’ and ‘not true anymore’.

My point is that these terms are variations of wording that has been used throughout history to discredit people who buck the narrative. These people can be wackos but they can also be on the cutting edge. They can also have very important information that no one wants to accept.
