For the most part, I am managing the symptoms of my perimenopause. I am tackling other issues first – first a gut issue, SIBO, that improved everything, and now non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) – and really hoping to be metabolically flexible and make it past actual menopause before I make decisions about HRT. I have some new and pervasive body pain throwing a spanner in the works (HOW FUN IS THIS WHOLE THING AMIRIGHT?) so I am planning to consult with a mainstream ob/gyn in Abu Dhabi and an integrative GP in Dubai to find out my options.

Watch this space: I’ll document it all. 

I stress the above is where I am at right now; your situation is probably very different.
