EXERCISE: “Just walk and lift weights” seems to be the current trend in advice for middle-aged women, but a new study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine suggests that adding mere minutes of high-intensity moves significantly improves our heart health. Researchers in Sydney, Australia found that short bursts of vigorous exercise, even as little as three minutes per day, led to a 45 percent lower risk of having a major cardiovascular event.
