Do you really believe that in this beautiful, magical, mysterious world, women were made to function for the first part of our lives and then fall apart?
That we were only meant to be beautiful for half our lives?
Do you really believe we were meant to live in deficiency and disease…
… while men are able to carry on as they were?
None of these things make any sense, right?
We still live way longer than they do, right?
I am increasingly wary of anyone who tries to tell us these stories – even innocently.
Even women.
Especially women.
(Because it’s mostly women. There’s no men around who’d dare in 2023, right?)
And those kind of women have done enough damage to us over the years.
This isn’t an us versus them post.
This is an ‘it’s time to stick our fingers in our ears to these messages and go lalalala you make no common sense’ post.
I’m not saying ignore your health.
I’m not saying “do this” or “don’t do that”.
I’m saying IT’S TIME TO LEARN TO FIGURE IT OUT FOR YOURSELF.
I’m saying you do you.
No one said this transition would be easy.
But you don’t have to believe their sad, stressful, negativity-fueled stories anymore.
They are all the same: you don’t have enough, it’s slipping away, you need to get something, buy something, apply something – and fast. And now. Before it’s too late.
You can – you must – tell your own.
You were always meant to anyway.
That’s the heroine’s journey of perimenopause, menopause and midlife.
Your second chance to live in your true power.
And just like the main character of every book, movie, poem or television show you’ve ever watched experiences…
… it starts way before you are ready.
And you probably don’t want to say yes to the call.
But you must.
You have to.
(Spoiler alert: you will)
Because continuing on the way you are, the way you always have, just doesn’t feel right anymore.
Does it?
I know it’s scary.
But it’s time trust yourself.
It’s time.
